Ember Connect works only if every call feels safe and every profile is real. These Guidelines form part of our Terms & Conditions and apply to everything you do on the Platform — your profile, your calls, and your messages. Breaking them can mean content removal, a warning, suspension, or a permanent ban, and for anything unlawful, a report to law enforcement.
1. Be who you say you are
- One account per person, registered with your own phone number.
- Use your real age and recent photos of yourself. No impersonation, celebrity photos, AI-generated faces, or borrowed identities.
- Earner accounts are verified to a specific person. Never let anyone else take calls on your verified account.
- You must be 18 or older. Suspected under-18 accounts are suspended immediately and reported where required.
2. No sexual content or sexual services — zero tolerance
- No nudity, sexually explicit behaviour, or sexual content on calls or in profiles — even between consenting adults, and even if requested or paid for.
- Never solicit, offer, or advertise sexual services, escort or companionship services, or in-person meetings in exchange for money or anything of value. This results in an immediate permanent ban and may be reported to law enforcement.
- No pornographic, paedophilic, or child-exploitative material of any kind. This is reported to the authorities without exception.
3. Respect the person on the other side
- No harassment, stalking, threats, or intimidation — on the Platform or off it.
- No abuse, insults, or hate based on gender, religion, caste, race, ethnicity, disability, or sexual orientation.
- No defamatory content, and nothing invasive of another person's privacy — including their bodily privacy.
- If someone declines your call or ends a conversation, respect it. Repeatedly calling or requesting someone who has declined is harassment.
4. No recording or leaking
- Never record, screenshot, capture, or redistribute another user's call, video, image, or messages without their explicit consent.
- Sharing another user's personal information (phone number, address, workplace, photos) without consent — “doxxing” — is a permanent ban.
- Morphed or manipulated images of another person are removed within 24 hours of a complaint and the account actioned.
5. No scams, money games, or off-platform payments
- Never ask another user for money, gifts, financial details, or OTPs. Never send money to another user — see our Safety Tips.
- Do not move or attempt to move payments outside the Platform, or share payment handles (UPI, bank, wallets) on calls or profiles.
- No promotion of money laundering, gambling, betting, investment schemes, or any activity unlawful in India.
- No advertising, spam, or commercial solicitation of other users.
6. Lawful content only
In line with Rule 3(1)(b) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, do not post or share content that: belongs to someone else without their right; is obscene, defamatory, or otherwise unlawful; is harmful to children; infringes copyright, trademark, or other rights; deceives or misleads about the origin of a message or is patently false and shared to mislead or deceive; threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security, or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states, or public order; incites any offence; or contains malware or code designed to disrupt any system.
7. Reporting and enforcement
- Report any user or content from their profile or the call screen, or write to our Grievance Officer (see Contact).
- Complaints are acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days. Content showing nudity, a sexual act, or impersonation (including morphed images) is actioned within 24 hours of the complaint.
- Blocking a user immediately stops them from contacting you.
- Depending on severity, enforcement ranges from content removal and warnings to permanent bans. Fraud-linked earnings and minutes may be forfeited.
- If you believe we acted in error, you can appeal to the Grievance Officer within 30 days.
These Guidelines are not exhaustive — anything that endangers users or the integrity of the Platform can be actioned even if not listed here. We will remind users of these rules periodically, and at least once a year.
